I set out to reconnoiter a trail I noticed last time I rode the Boise Ridge and find a lovely creek meander down the other side of the mountains.
I noticed a trailhead (Daggett Creek) on a previous ride that I’d like to explore so I’m riding my usual way up Rocky Canyon to the ridge then probably 8th Street back to Boise. It’s a beautiful autumn day.
The trail and creek merge in many places, which is fun and a little exciting on dual sport tires running street pressures.
After a small tree crossing and encroaching brush, I decide this will be on to finish discovering later.
The burn above 8th Street was still black and new when I first moved to Boise. In the years since it’s become this stand of skeletons, struggling to remember themselves.
Shrubs are working hard to make up for the absence of deciduous trees. The colors are striking.
The old XR has been a reliable me-mover for a lot of years. I kind of got out of the habit of riding much. I plan to remedy that.
